Alpinestars SM5 Corp Helmet has been purpose-built to deliver high levels of protection, comfort, and performance for MX and off-road riders. It features a lightweight thermo-injected outer shell made from an advanced impact-resistant thermoplastic polymer, engineered with varying thicknesses to balance strength and reduced weight. To ensure an optimal fit and effective impact absorption, the SM5 uses three anatomical shell sizes combined with three individual EPS liner sizes, creating a precise fit while enhancing safety. A multi-density EPS liner ensures the correct density is used in critical impact zones, while the redesigned chin bar profile and raised relief section help reduce forces transmitted to the collarbone. Weighing approximately 1,350 grams (size medium), the helmet remains light without compromising protection and fully complies with the latest ECE R 22.06 safety standard.

In terms of safety and ventilation, the SM5 incorporates advanced impact-management technologies designed to reduce both linear and rotational forces. A low-friction surface on the inner EPS liner helps minimize the effects of oblique impacts, achieving a 70% score under the ECE 22.06 rotational impact test. Impact performance has been significantly improved, delivering up to 44% better regular-speed impact ratings along with notable gains at low and high speeds. The patented visor release system ensures controlled visor detachment during an impact, regardless of angle, while the visor itself is shaped to channel air efficiently into the ventilation system. Multiple air inlets and exhaust ports maximize airflow and heat exchange, ensuring consistent comfort during demanding off-road rides.
